Sure, that’s a pretty sad sight, but you know, I’m not going to let this ruin my winter. Those of us involved in winter sports are unfortunately all to familiar with the “Backyard Syndrome.” This is when you look out your back door, see a sorry sight like this and decide winter’s over. This is never a good move. It makes you depressed, and it also sets yourself up to be cheated out of some good times.
I tend to be a bit overly optimistic at times, but you know, what’s wrong with that? We are still getting trail reports in at http://www.mesnow.com/WherestheSnow.html
Riding certainly isn’t great in a lot of places, but riding is still to be had. I was happy to get this video this morning from the unfailingly cheerful Matt Polstein at New England Outdoor Center. While some folks are declaring the end of winter, Matt has been out riding and grooming. Check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3yI0Cjhfuc&feature=youtu.be
That looks pretty darn good to me.
So, pull yourself up by your bootstraps and get out there. Keep in mind that we’ve already had a month of good riding so far this season, and April is a long ways away.
See you on the trails.
